Progressive is excited to launch a brand-new House Counsel office in Delaware—and we’re building the team from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to join as one of our first managing attorneys, shaping the office’s culture, practices, and impact from day one while representing a trusted industry leader.

As a managing attorney on our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a leadership role while also maintaining a small case load. Providing legal representation to Progressive or clients, you’ll handle cases from beginning to end. As a manager, you’ll also make employment decisions, handle performance management, monitor the department budget, make compensation decisions and develop employees.
This is a hybrid position with occasional travel to an office for meetings and/or training. Candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the office they support.

Must-have qualifications

  • Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM) and a minimum of five years general/auto civil litigation experience.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state in Delaware.
  • This position requires a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • This position requires compliance with Progressive's driving standards and/or policies.

Preferred skills

  • Experience handling all aspects of litigation, including expert discovery and trial, in moderate to high complexity lawsuits.
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of medical and other technical information.
  • Thorough understanding and excellent working knowledge of applicable laws and rules (e.g. evidence, civil procedure, trial practice, and tort).
  • Ability to execute organizational strategy.
  • Proven communication and leadership qualities with ability to work within a team-base environment.

Compensation 

  •  $184,730- $203,000/year 
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 50% of your eligible earnings based on company performance.
