About the role

As a Corporate Communications Manager at TQL, you will lead and develop a high‑performing communications team while serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership. This role oversees all aspects of corporate communications, focusing on media relations, awards, copy, executive presence, social media and supporting the Director of Corporate Communications with board material preparation, company‑wide quarterly business review materials and M&A diligence and integration communications. This role is for a high achiever that wants to take their communications skillset to the next level, has strong business instincts and thrives in a no‑two‑days‑are‑alike environment.

What you’ll be doing
  • Team Leadership – Lead and develop the Corporate Communications team ensuring high‑quality output across all workstreams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Media Relations – Manage TQL's media relations strategy, including proactive pitching, reactive media inquiries, spokesperson preparation and crisis communications. Build and maintain relationships with national, local and trade media.
  • Awards & Recognition – Oversee the execution of TQL's awards program, including identification of new opportunities, submission review and results tracking. Collaborate closely with HR and Corporate Communications Specialist II on execution and reporting on awards programs.
  • Copy & Content – Oversee all corporate copy created by Senior Copywriter, ensuring consistency with TQL's brand voice, alignment with strategic goals and clear reporting. Participate in the drafting, review and approval process for company announcements, employee communications, digital content, etc.
  • Corporate & Executive Support – Develop and refine executive‑level presentations translating complex business topics into clear, compelling narratives. Support the Corporate Communications Director with preparation of Board, Quarterly Business Review, M&A and other materials as needed. Support additional corporate communications functions as needed, including crisis management, litigation‑related communications, regulatory messaging and internal change management. Act as an ambassador for TQL's Winning Principles: Pledge Integrity, Exceed Expectations, Recognize the Value of Teamwork and Be Forthright About Conflict.
What you need
  • 8-10 years of corporate communications experience at a large company, with demonstrated progression in responsibility
  • Proven experience leading and developing a communications team
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly grasp business acumen and translate complex topics into clear, audience‑appropriate messaging
  • Strong track record in media relations, including experience managing proactive and reactive media strategies
  • Experience working directly with senior executives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high‑stakes, cross‑functional communication initiatives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and effective relationships with senior leaders
  • Ability to manage multiple, diverse projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or marketing required
