Job description
The Clinical Program Manager provides leadership for two essential clinical programs at Children's Hospital Colorado: The Burn Program and the Trauma Program Registry and Administrative team. This unique role combines clinical program leadership with operational management, supporting multidisciplinary teams that advance high-quality pediatric burn and trauma care across the organization.
Children's Hospital Colorado is home to two trauma centers: the Anschutz Medical Campus, an American College of Surgeons (ACS) Level I Verified Pediatric Trauma Center, and CHCO Colorado Springs Hospital, a Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) designated Level II Trauma Center.
Within the Trauma Program, the Clinical Program Manager oversees the Trauma Registry and Administrative team, including trauma registrars, the Senior Management Analyst, and the Trauma Program Coordinator. The role is responsible for registry operations, trauma data management and analysis, and oversight of Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) data submission and reporting to the ACS.
Within the Burn Program, the Clinical Program Manager provides programmatic and clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary burn team, including nurses, medical assistants, and injury prevention staff. In partnership with the Burn Medical Director, the manager leads program development, advances evidence-based practice, supports regulatory and accreditation readiness, and drives continuous improvement in burn patient outcomes across inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $105,046.99 to $157,570.49
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages a multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staff, including recruitment, orientation, training, performance evaluations, and corrective/disciplinary actions
- Leads initiatives that support system-wide or service-line-specific goals, across populations and service lines.
- Oversees program development, evaluation, and strategic planning across disciplines or service lines.
- Accountable for program-specific key performance indicators (KPIs), such as access metrics, participation rates, or initiative outcomes.
- Responsible for patient-level outcomes related to the program, while broader clinical and operational outcomes remain with upline leadership.
- Serves as a subject matter expert, ensuring program-level compliance with clinical guidelines, research protocols, and funding requirements.
- Leads program evaluation and accreditation efforts, including meeting national standards, fulfilling registry/data reporting requirements, and maintaining readiness with accrediting organizations.
- Provides shared fiscal accountability with clinical leadership in annual budget planning, variance reporting, payroll documentation, and monitoring staffing and operational expenses.
- Partners with CHCO Marketing and other internal/external stakeholders to promote programs and services, identifying opportunities to highlight program impact.
- Monitors program activities to ensure quality and accuracy of outcomes; coordinates quality improvement and evaluation efforts in collaboration with other systems and agencies as appropriate.
- Provides consultative clinical expertise by applying evidence-based practice to guide program strategies and support the patient, family, and healthcare team. Offers clinical follow-up recommendations when desired program outcomes are not achieved but does not provide day-to-day bedside care.
- Maintains program quality in compliance with CHCO policies and procedures, national standards, and accrediting body requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degrees
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Master's Degree in Healthcare and related field preferred
- Experience
- Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience
- Two (2) years of nursing leadership in supervision, leading clinical practice projects.
- Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Nurse or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in trauma registry, trauma program management support functions
- Experience in burn registry, within an American Burn Association program
