Primary Purpose

The Manager, Skilled Trades Talent Programs serves as a strategic advisor and program leader focused on attracting, developing, and hiring top-tier skilled trades talent (e.g., electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, maintenance, production, field service). This role partners with operational leaders, technical training teams, trade schools, unions, workforce development organizations, and community partners to design and execute a comprehensive talent strategy that supports Generac's skilled trades workforce needs.

Major Responsibilities
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key internal stakeholders-operations leadership, hiring managers, HR partners, and technical training teams-to support targeted skilled trades hiring.
  • Collaborate with operations and manufacturing leaders to assess workforce needs across electrical, mechanical, production, and maintenance roles.
  • Maintains an understanding of workforce requirements to build forecasts, cultivate talent pools and leverage best practices to create a talent attraction plan
  • Creates and strengthens relationships with external stakeholders - program administrators, career centers, faculty, student organizations, administrators
  • Analyzes progress/results with current schools/programs to assist in identifying best practices, strengthen selection, and develop recommendations to build a strategic plan and achieve desired outcomes
  • Oversees development of a candidate pipeline that ensures an unparalleled candidate experience and generates strategic differentiated applicants
  • Partners with the Operations and Manufacturing teams to design and execute external candidate campaigns, partnerships to build Generac's employer brand
  • Develops and leads attraction and education activities for in-person and virtual recruiting
  • Drives brainstorming and ideation to continuously optimize programs and processes
  • Monitors and reports on program statistics as requested
Minimum Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, or related field

Work Experience

  • 7 years of hands-on recruiting or program management experience in a corporate or college setting
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking systems (Workday), CRMS's, Handshake and LinkedIn

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills (ability to balance multiple priorities)
  • Recruiting skills- including sourcing and screening candidates, career fair, event management and social media branding
  • Competency in recruitment analytics- dashboard development, return on investment, stakeholder satisfaction
  • Exceptional consulting and presentations skills (written/oral)
  • Demonstrated competency in client service and stakeholder influencing, from hiring managers and interview teams to senior leaders and executives
  • Strong team and collaborative player

  • Ability to communicate to stakeholders challenges and mitigation strategies
