FORVIA is looking for a year-round Purchasing Intern for its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Your mission, roles and responsibilities Join our purchasing team as a Purchasing Intern and collaborate to build and deploy the Steel commodity strategy within USA and Mexico. Purchasing intern will contribute to analyze and putting together key information that will help for negotiation with suppliers, but also participate to initiatives driving strategy implementation.

Through successful completion of these tasks and projects the Intern will obtain experience and knowledge within their field of educational pursuit. Support RFQ processes to obtain competitive supplier offers. Analyze proposals for cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Participate and contribute to supplier negotiations with the Commodity Leader Generating and monitoring monthly reports for strategic management reviews Follow up on and consolidate essential steel market and index data Identify and suggest cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Track and support cost reduction initiatives across plants and suppliers. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to align purchasing goals.

Monitor project milestones and supplier readiness to ensure strategy execution. Create purchase requisitions in SAP with accuracy and timeliness. Manage purchase orders, confirmations, and deliveries to maintain smooth supply Champion sustainability initiatives by tracking supplier actions and supporting CO reduction efforts Your profile and competencies to succeed Knowledge / Skills: Interest in purchasing, supply chain or automotive industry Good analytical and organizational skills Team player with strong communication skills Fluent in English (other languages are a plus) Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and Excel Education / Experience: Full or part time student Must be a currently enrolled student at an accredited university Pursuing a bachelor's degree in one of the following: Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or any additional programs related to this field.
