Physical Therapist
This is a 13-week contract position.
40 hours a week. Shifts vary from Monday to Friday, 7 am - 6 pm, and Saturday, 8 am - 1 pm.
The Physical Therapist will provide general evaluations and treatments impacting patients' functional abilities across a wide range of ages and diagnoses. This role includes overseeing and directing the work of Physical Therapist Assistants and other designated staff members.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct PT evaluations and formulate treatment plans with measurable goals.
- Implement and modify therapy plans based on patient responses to optimize outcomes.
- Document patient encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress in compliance with policies.
- Facilitate communication with the healthcare team, attending care conferences and meetings.
- Develop patient education programs tailored to individual needs, ensuring understanding of home exercise programs.
- Assist in the acquisition and fitting of durable medical equipment based on patient needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of clinical spaces and manage supply stocks and clinical equipment.
- Adhere to regulatory and practice standards set by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
- Participate in committee duties and represent the Rehabilitation Services Department as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure include:
- Entry level qualifying master's or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, or equivalent experience with APTA approved programs.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Alaska.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in adult outpatient rehabilitation.
- Active Alaska driver's license.
