Position Summary
The Basketball Programming Coach is responsible for leading and delivering high-quality instructional basketball programming, including skills classes, clinics, camps, leagues, and developmental sessions. This role focuses on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for athletes of varying ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate basketball drills, stations, and skill-development sessions.
- Set up and break down courts, equipment, and training materials.
- Adapt instruction and drill progressions to accommodate various age groups and ability levels.
- Provide clear demonstrations and teaching cues.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and encouraging environment.
- Ensure the safety of all participants.
- Maintain professionalism with athletes, families, and staff.
- Support program directors with session organization and execution.
- Assist with maintaining equipment and clean training spaces.
Qualfications
- At least two years of prior experience coaching or working with youth athletes (basketball preferred).
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals.
- Patience, professionalism, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.
- Background check required.
