Somersett is a 2,391-acre master-planned golf community located in Northwest Reno, surrounded by the Sierra Nevada range and Peavine Peak. The Association provides a range of amenities, recreational facilities, and lifestyle programming designed to enhance the resident experience.
Somersett Owners Association promotes a high-performance, service-driven culture focused on operational excellence, community engagement, and long-term sustainability. The organization manages multiple facilities and sub-associations, including Sierra Canyon, a 55+ sub-association with its own dedicated amenities and clubhouse, Aspen Lodge.
Aspen Lodge is the primary amenity facility serving Sierra Canyon residents and includes indoor and outdoor recreational amenities, fitness spaces, activity rooms, and community gathering areas designed to support an active adult lifestyle.
Job Summary:
The Fitness Coordinator is responsible for the oversight, quality, and coordination of fitness facilities and wellness programming at Sierra Canyon. This role ensures that the fitness center, pool areas, and related amenities are maintained to a high standard while supporting a consistent and engaging wellness experience for residents.
The position manages fitness programming, coordinates instructors and vendors, and supports health and wellness initiatives within the community. The Fitness Coordinator also tracks participation, monitors facility conditions, and provides updates and reporting to management to support ongoing improvement and planning.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee fitness classes, wellness programs, and related activities
  • Manage scheduling of instructors, classes, and facility use
  • Work with instructors and vendors to ensure quality and consistency in programming
  • Monitor participation and support improvements to programs and offerings
  • Oversee the condition, cleanliness, and functionality of fitness facilities, including gym equipment, pool areas, and fitness track
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure safety and operational standards are maintained
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for fitness equipment and related areas
  • Serve as a point of contact for residents regarding fitness programs and facility use
  • Communicate schedules, updates, and program information clearly to residents
  • Track usage, participation, and operational needs and provide updates to management
  • Coordinate with lodge staff to support overall facility scheduling and operations
  • ย Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
