Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.\r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**\r\n

Nature of Work

The fundamental\r\nreason this classification exists is to perform technician engineering work,\r\ninspecting the construction of new development or public works projects. The\r\nwork responsibilities involve supervising one employee, reviewing construction\r\nsite plans, and making on-site inspections of developers' sites and various\r\nother engineering structures; corresponding with various consultants and design\r\nengineers; assisting citizens in resolving their complaints against the city; coordinating\r\nwith utility companies and State agencies; and supervising and inspecting the\r\nwork of employees. The employee reports\r\ndirectly to the City Engineer.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

High school\r\ndiploma or a GED and at least five (5) years of engineering experience to include\r\nreviewing construction site plans and the inspection of construction sites. \r\nNOTE: Qualifying education,\r\ntraining and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and\r\nabilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n
