Position Summary

The Memory Care Coordinator (MCC) champions Charter Senior Living’s Flourish Memory Care philosophy and supports the daily execution of dementia-specific engagement programming and person-centered care approaches throughout the Memory Care neighborhood.

This role works closely with the Memory Care Director to create meaningful experiences that support resident connection, purpose, comfort, and overall quality of life. The Memory Care Coordinator leads structured engagement programs, supports neighborhood routines, and helps reinforce dementia-informed care approaches with residents and team members.

This is a hands-on, resident-focused position centered on engagement, relationship-building, and daily programming support.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily memory care engagement programs including group, sensory, individual, and theme-based activities

  • Support the Flourish Memory Care philosophy and engagement standards

  • Encourage resident participation and personalized engagement experiences

  • Assist with structured neighborhood routines and resident transitions throughout the day

  • Support family events, seasonal programs, and community activities

  • Help maintain clean, organized, and inviting programming spaces

  • Reinforce person-centered dementia care approaches and therapeutic communication techniques

  • Support onboarding and engagement integration for new residents

  • Assist with activity preparation, calendar support, and supply organization

  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and associates

  • Promote teamwork and engagement among care associates through positive role modeling

  • Support residents during activities, outings, and engagement opportunities

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in memory care, dementia engagement, or senior living programming preferred

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience working with individuals living with dementia preferred

  • Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Human Development, or related field preferred

  • Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), Activity Director Certification, or related credentials preferred

  • Strong understanding of dementia-specific communication and engagement approaches

  • Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused attitude

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a structured environment

  • Basic technology skills including Microsoft Office, email, Sagely, iN2L, or similar engagement platforms preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and movement throughout the community

  • Ability to assist residents during activities and engagement programming

  • Occasional transportation assistance for residents using wheelchairs or mobility devices

  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
