Job Description

The Engineering Coordinator Specialist supports the processing of custom-engineered material handling and fall protection systems by creating accurate technical documentation and engineering bills of materials. This role generates detailed layouts, drawings, and wiring diagrams tailored to customer and company needs, while ensuring data quality and supporting cross-functional teams with product information and options. The specialist contributes to continuous improvement by identifying design and process enhancements and plays a key role in enabling efficient production in a growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Generate detailed bills of material (BOMs) that support the design and production of custom-engineered material handling and fall protection systems.
  • Create accurate layouts, drawings, and wiring diagrams specific to customer requirements and internal company standards.
  • Develop technical layouts and documentation to support the quoting of custom systems and to facilitate production planning.
  • Complete thorough quality verification checks on all generated data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with specifications.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from other departments regarding product options, capabilities, and configuration details.
  • Manage assigned workload effectively, prioritize tasks, and communicate potential delays or issues to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Draw and interpret wiring diagrams for motorized systems, ensuring correct integration of electromechanical components.
  • Review relevant warranty information as needed to support product configuration, documentation, and customer inquiries.
  • Provide constructive feedback on potential design and process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with remote teams to coordinate engineering activities, share information, and resolve technical questions.
  • Engage with vendors, customers, and shop personnel as needed to clarify components, projects, and technical requirements.
  • Utilize CAD software and related tools to produce and update engineering documentation, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Support customer service efforts by providing clear technical information and configuration details when requested.
Essential Skills
  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a closely related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of technical experience, preferably working with industrial products.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, including tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, for creating layouts, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and manage bills of material (BOMs) for engineered products.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, as verified by required mechanical aptitude testing.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams, particularly for motorized and electromechanical systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with remote teams and collaborate across departments.
  • Customer service focus, with strong communication skills for responding to internal and external inquiries.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools for documentation and communication.

Work Environment

The role primarily involves office-based work with extended periods of sitting while working on CAD software, engineering documentation, and Microsoft Office tools. The position also includes occasional trips into the factory to collaborate with shop personnel, review components, and discuss ongoing projects in a hands-on environment. The work setting supports close collaboration with cross-functional and remote teams, emphasizing a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and customer-focused solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.00/hr.
