Job Description:

Transportation Utility Engineer

Parsons is hiring a Utility Engineer/Coordinator support transportation infrastructure projects across our East Central Region, including work in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with experience in highway utility coordination, DOT utility processes, and/or technical writing related to utility work, such as manuals, procedures, training, or technical guidance.

In this role, you will collaborate with project managers, designers, utility owners, and public agencies to evaluate utility impacts, support utility conflict analysis, coordinate relocations, maintain utility documentation, and help deliver high-quality transportation projects. Depending on your background, you may also contribute to utility manuals, training programs, and research initiatives that support state and national infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelors degree in Engineering (or related field)
  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required (or other related certifications)
  • Experience in utility coordination, utility engineering, utility relocation, or related transportation work
  • Highway or DOT project experience preferred
  • INDOT Certified Utility Coordinator, or ability to obtain certification
  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Experience with technical writing for utility procedures, manuals, or training is a plus
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and engineering software preferred
