Software Engineer Associate - Technology Development Program Position: 

As Software Engineer Associate, you will participate in the development and support of new and existing Technology solutions. In this role, you will be part of a global Digital Technology & Data team and will work to discover and deliver solutions to problems to enable Cargill's digital future.

When you step into the Software Engineer Associate role, you will apply your talents on both digital and transformative initiatives. You will get to collaborate with cross-functional global teams or work directly with customers as a key player in a broad range of opportunities with a bright future. 

Your work: 

  • Develop, test, integrate, maintain, troubleshoot and document software solutions.
  • Ensure code quality and incorporate security practices in newly developed and maintained applications.
  • Collaborate with the team to adopt agile philosophies, participate in agile ceremonies and help to identify improvements.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and learn and adapt to the company's engineering and development practices.
  • Participate in the engineering community by maintaining and sharing relevant technical approaches and modern skills.
  • Partner collaboratively with other teams to deliver digital solutions.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Technology Development Program:  

Our cohort of Technology Development Program (TDP) participants will begin starting in June and rotate through 3 experiences over the course of 2 years across teams in Atlanta, GA. Each rotation is eight months in length. The rotational experiences are listed below: 

  • 1 application experience (i.e. ERP, customer/commercial, supply chain, trading, smart manufacturing, non-ERP apps) 
  • 1 platform experience (i.e. infrastructure as code, Cloud, Cyber Security, API Gateway, DXP, Mobile, Data platform)  
  • 1 data experience (i.e. Python, SQL) 

Graduates of the TDP will be placed in individual Software Engineering roles across Digital Technology & Data (DT&D) at Cargill. In addition to core role, they will act as mentors for newly incoming Rotational Program participants. 

Compensation: 

The expected salary for this position is $93,000. The disclosed salary has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer 

  • Bachelor's degree with a major OR minor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other technology related discipline 

  • Graduating with a degree between December 2025 and Summer 2026 

  • Available to start June 2026 

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA   

  • All candidates must be willing and able to relocate to Atlanta, GA (if applicable) 

  • Knowledge of basic structured programming, systems analysis and design, database design, and business concepts 

  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance 

  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures 

  • Ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previously completed a software engineering internship 

  • Commercial product software development experience 

  • Experience with agile development methodologies  

  • Demonstrated analytical and technical skills 

  • Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills, collaboration skills, verbal and written communication skills, and information research and gathering skills
