The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Senior Distribution Engineer to join our engineering team.

In this role, you will lead the design of overhead and underground distribution systems while supporting a growing portfolio of power delivery projects across Canada and North America. As part of a growing distribution team, you'll help shape engineering standards, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continued expansion of our distribution capabilities.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the design of low- and medium-voltage overhead and underground distribution systems for utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects
  • Prepare engineering scopes, cost estimates, calculations, and detailed design packages in accordance with applicable utility and industry standards
  • Develop distribution designs using PLS software, QuickPole, SpidaCalc, or similar engineering tools
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations, including load demand, voltage drop, and system design analyses
  • Develop pole framing designs and specify associated materials
  • Coordinate with clients, utilities, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
  • Perform peer reviews, authenticate and seal engineering drawings and design packages
  • Support project planning, budgets, schedules, and resource coordination as required
  • Mentor junior engineers while contributing to the development of internal engineering standards and best practices
  • Assist with project proposals, technical estimates, and business development initiatives
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with experience stamping and sealing engineering drawings
  • 5+ years of distribution engineering experience focused on overhead and underground power systems
  • Experience designing low and medium-voltage distribution systems
  • Proficiency with PLS software, QuickPole, SpidaCalc, or similar distribution design software
  • Experience performing electrical engineering calculations and preparing detailed engineering design packages
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence
  • Experience with streetlight design, AGi32, MicroStation, AutoCAD, LDC standards (Toronto Hydro preferred), mine sites, wind farms, private connections, aerial communications, or permitting processes is considered an asset
