Job description

Who we are:

Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.

What you will do:

· Assist in operating survey equipment including robotic total stations, GPS units and digital levels.

· Assist in maintaining, setting & verifying survey control network throughout the life of the project.

· Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.

· Maintain or help maintain accurate survey records and documentation of surveys carried out by the crew chief.

· Assist in providing layout at various stages of construction.

· Assist in collecting topographic data for the purpose of final deliverables to various teams.

· Assist in managing as-built information and digital records.

· Provide detailed reports at the end of each workday on the work planned vs the work executed.

What you bring:

· 2 years experience in surveying or in a civil construction environment is considered an asset.

· Experience working with Leica survey equipment is considered an asset.

· Familiarity with Metrolinx or MTO survey standards is considered an asset.

· C.E.T (Certified Engineering technologist), post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering or related field. A degree in Geomatics Engineering is considered an asset.

· Problem solver & detail oriented.

· Good communication.

· Valid G class Ontario Driver’s Licence.

Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000-$80,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
