As a part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects involving the assessment, planning, study, design, approval, and construction administration of municipal, Indigenous, and some private sector water and wastewater infrastructure.

We are looking for an individual who can work both independently on project sites but also remotely in a team environment.ย  Our ideal candidate is flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities/assignments.ย  The ideal candidate needs to be able to learn in a fast-paced environment, be fair, be willing and able to develop working relationships with all involved parties, be meticulous in their notes, and be willing to go that extra mile to continue to provide quality service to our clients.

This position is based out of our Orangeville (preferred) or Guelph office.ย  Occasional travel to other offices as well as client sites is a requirement.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As a member of our Engineering Team, you will be involved in a variety of infrastructure projects including water systems (low lift stations, treatment plants/pumphouses, reservoirs, distribution systems), wastewater systems (gravity/lower pressure collection systems, pumping stations, treatment plants, outfalls), and occasionally other infrastructure such as road construction, waste transfer stations, etc. under the direction of our Senior Team members.

  • Assisting in assessment, planning, study, design, approval, and construction administration of water supply, treatment, pumping, storage, distribution projects, and wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and disposal;
  • Supporting senior engineers and project managers in producing preliminary and detailed design drawings, preparing related reports, coordinating approvals, developing construction cost estimates, and liaising with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors;
  • Providing support to construction inspectors and contract administrators in the field and office to gain familiarity with construction techniques and challenges;
  • Working under the guidance of project managers and management staff across the company to develop design skills and ensure design quality standards are met;
  • Collaborating with and contributing to multi-office project teams to ensure project delivery successfully meets the needs of clients;
  • Providing engineering support to multidiscipline project teams as needed;
  • Preparing proposals, project reports, design documents, permit applications, environmental assessment, and environmental screening reports;
  • Participating in capital planning studies, feasibility studies and conducting condition assessments of water and wastewater facilities;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you Bring

ย An engineering degree in a related discipline (new graduates are encouraged to apply);

  • Knowledge of municipal and provincial approval processes, as well as relevant agency and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices are an asset;
  • Problem solving, project coordination skills and the ability to exercise independent judgement in dealing with technical matters;
  • Ability to read and interpret internal and external policies, construction drawings, specifications and various legislation related to municipal infrastructure;
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and ability to work effectively and independently with shifting priorities and rapid change;
  • An understanding of the engineering principles involved in the design of municipal infrastructure such as water supply, treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment and roads;
  • Strong written and oral communication and analytical skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work on multiple projects concurrently;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, and Project.

While experience with water and wastewater infrastructure design, contract administration, and client relationships is an asset, it's not a requirement.

If you're eager to kick-start your career in water and wastewater engineering and contribute to impactful projects, we encourage you to apply. Join us in shaping the future of municipal and Indigenous infrastructure. Apply now!
