We specialize in electrifying equipment currently powered by internal combustion engines, providing the world with a greener, cleaner choice for their eBikes, eMotorcycles, eScooters, golf carts, outdoor power equipment, and electric utility vehicles.


Summary

We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our Team at ASI. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to our eBike, eScooter, eMotorcycle, and other eMobility customers, as well as collaborating with internal teams to develop and improve our in-house developed products for the eMobility market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed familiarity with ASI's Products and Technologies
  • Provide technical support and guidance to eMobility manufacturers and dealers, including developing and executing customer solutions, troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Assist in the development of Scopes of Work (SOW), Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Quotes (RFQ)
  • Develop and provide technical/product training and support for our Sales Team, Sales Representatives and Customers
  • Gather and understand Customers' requirements
  • Monitoring market conditions and competitive threats to support R&D and Sales to understand eMobility market technical needs and develop new products
  • Attend eMobility industry events and trade shows to promote the company's products and services
  • Onboard and support customers through their product development cycles
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including datasheets and user manuals
  • Provide technical support and consultation for the design and implementation of electric motor and controller systems for eMobility
  • Provide support for functional safety and electrical system failure analysis
  • Develop and analyze electrical and mechanical solutions/schematics
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical systems, including software, mechanical and electrical hardware

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Education and/or Experience:

  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of motor control experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical support or application engineering role
  • Experience with eMobility powertrain design and integration
  • Experience with functional safety and electrical system failure analysis
  • Experience with product development
  • Must have or be eligible to achieve a P.Eng. or equivalent

Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of electric motor control systems, electric motors, and applications
  • Hands-on experience with wiring, installing and troubleshooting electric vehicle control and traction systems
  • Strong customer focus with a sense of urgency and ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel internationally, occasionally, as required
