JAGS Fabrication, Inc.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to oversee fabrication projects from estimating through final installation. This multi-functional role combines responsibilities in project management, estimating, purchasing, drafting, and logistics management to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to customer specifications.
The ideal candidate will have strong construction, structural steel, or bridge infrastructure experience and possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
  • Manage fabrication projects from contract award through project completion.
  • Develop project schedules and coordinate activities with customers, contractors, engineers, fabricators, and installation crews.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and provide ongoing project updates.
  • Identify and resolve project risks, delays, and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Estimating
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for fabrication and installation projects.
  • Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, bids, and contract pricing.
  • Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.

Purchasing
  • Procure raw materials, hardware, coatings, and subcontracted services.
  • Issue purchase orders and track material deliveries.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory requirements to support production and installation schedules.

Drafting & Design
  • Coordinate preparation and review of shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
  • Work with engineers, detailers, and customers to ensure drawing accuracy.
  • Review drawings for constructability and compliance with project specifications.
  • Manage drawing revisions and approval processes.
  • Maintain project documentation and drawing records.

Logistics Coordination
  • Schedule and coordinate material shipments and deliveries.
  • Plan transportation of fabricated components to job sites.
  • Coordinate with trucking companies, installation crews, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor shipping schedules to ensure timely project execution.
  • Resolve transportation and delivery issues as they arise.

Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in construction, structural steel, bridge construction, or related industries.
  • Experience with estimating, purchasing, drafting coordination, and project management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering plans, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with CAD software is preferred, but training will be available.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with steel railing, highway infrastructure, structural steel, or miscellaneous metals projects.
  • Knowledge of DOT specifications and public infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with fabrication and installation processes.
  • Understanding of logistics and transportation coordination for oversized loads.
