ANDRITZ Metals USA
ANDRITZ Metals USA designs and builds equipment for the processing of carbon steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metal including pickling lines, coating lines, levelers, cut to length lines, slitting lines as well as continuous or batch furnaces for reheating slabs, blooms, billets, and structural shapes. We specialize in supplying knives for metal processing equipment including shear blades, slitting knives and slitting spacers. We also provide mill and coil processing equipment rebuild and retrofit. Additionally we provide service parts and roll and knife regrind services for rolling mills and strip processors and provide a wide range of mechanical and electrical components for ANDRITZ equipment, as well as for many other brands in the industry.
The Role
Under the direction of Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for projects are related to industrial furnaces, steel, aluminum, and strip processing manufacturers.
Requirements
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items
  • Review technical requirements of sales contract,
  • Communicate required scope with engineering department,
  • Monitor engineering progress for technical requirements and schedule.
  • Approve and release final design packages to logistics.
  • Track progress on procurement and manufacturing,
  • Final inspections of equipment.
  • Support customer through installation and commissioning
  • Approximately 25% domestic/international travel is required including potential for longer duration travel associated with startup/commissioning duties. Must be physically capable to perform required activities associated with onsite work.

Technology
  • Experience designing with CAD software such as Solid Edge and AutoCAD.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office products.

Education and Experience
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT or PE certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in design, project engineering and start-up of similar equipment.
  • Experience with coil processing and finishing line equipment in the steel and aluminum industries.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic systems, and mechanical design required.
