The Role

The CMP Process Engineering Manager is responsible for assuring that the work conducted by the customer-facing Process Engineering team is managed and adjusted, as needed to consistently meet the Manufacturing team's commitments to CMP Product Management, the CMP Commercial Team, and our external customers.

The Process Engineering Manager is also responsible for assuring that workloads within the team stay properly balanced, that internal skill sets are properly matched to needs, and that professional development plans are created to ensure that additional skill sets are created as needed to meet changing internal and external requirements.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Assures that all activities and project work are conducted within site EH&S expectations, and consistent with Fujifilm core values; Provides immediate support for investigating any EH&S deviations, including near miss incidents and concerns raised by manufacturing personnel
  • Monitors daily progress against team deliverables and provides additional guidance or resources, if needed, to assure performance against schedule
  • With CMP Manufacturing Manager, analyzes equipment and/or system failures and/or operating deficiencies and assures that resources are assigned to establish containment and remediation
  • With CMP Quality and Product Management, assures that any high priority customer concerns or product quality issues are investigated, contained, and resolved within the requested timeline
  • Assures that work assignments are resourced in a way that accomplishes the primary objective, while also providing cross functional training opportunities within the team
  • Provides key input to the Site Leadership team on current and future resource needs, including participation in the site resource planning and budgeting processes

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; other technical disciplines with experience in automation, chemical manufacturing, or semiconductor manufacturing will be strongly considered
  • A minimum of 6 to 8 years of work experience in high volume chemical manufacturing
  • Previous experience supervising and/or mentoring others
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to communicate professionally with all levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in ambiguous and rapidly changing situations
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities
  • Demonstrated process trouble-shooting and structured problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and statistical analysis of data
  • Familiarity with JMP statistical software is preferred, but not required
  • Experience with LIMS, SAP, and SQL databases preferred; Prior experience with SAP Mii is a plus
  • Ability to interact productively with all levels of the organization
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 applications required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team driven environment
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
