Job description

Position Summary:

CNC Programming of complex Aerospace components to meet design specifications. Design safe and robust work holding fixtures. Create process instructions to support setup and operation of machining equipment. Conceive, investigate, evaluate, and make recommendations for new tooling and processes improvements in support of safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals. Perform complex analysis of design and/or assembly related projects. Evaluates engineering changes and determine appropriate resolutions to meet requirements. Lead and/or participate in company initiatives as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop CNC Programs utilizing CAD/CAM software
  • Provide liaison support for production floor via CAD setup sheets and instructions
  • Manage workflow to meet production schedule 
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and equipment to support efficient machining ops
  • Perform root cause corrective action in support of quality assurance 
  • Collaborate with other engineers, managers, and production personnel
  • Incorporate Lean Mfg. principles and Continuous Improvement initiatives 
  • Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications: 

  • Experience and Education:  
  • 3+ years of direct experience 
  • 3 + years of CNC machinist experience 
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Prior CAD/CAM CNC Mill programming of complex aerospace components
    • Proficiency in NX or Mastercam preferred. Experience with Solidworks a plus
    • Knowledge of precision machined component manufacturing in an Aerospace environment.
    • Knowledge of machined electronic enclosers preferred (Brazed, Bonded)
    • Workplace holding and fixture design and illustration experience
    • Proficiency in CNC Lathe programming a plus.
    • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office programs and Windows OS
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
    • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
    • Ability to systemically identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
    • Knowledge of Special Outside Processing operations (Heat Treat, Coatings)
  • Physical Requirements: 
    • Extended screen time 
    • Long periods of sitting 
    • Potentially long hours
