Job description

Coreslab Structures (ARIZ) Inc., a leader in the precast/prestressed construction industry, is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team.

Job Description

The position of Precast Engineering Manager carries the responsibility of managing engineering, drafting, project managers, and Quality Control. The Engineering Manager reports directly to the General Manager/Vice President.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overall management of engineering and drafting staff including project management.

  • Planning and organizing department to meet project schedules and deadlines.

  • Oversee the Quality Control Department and Quality Control Supervisors. Ensures adherence to our Quality Systems Manual and PCI Standard of Practice.

  • Monitor and maintain job budgets and overall departmental budget.

  • Maintains and implements drafting and design standards based on current codes as well as best practices

  • Negotiates and executes contracts with outside drafting and design consultants for which work is not performed in-house.

  • Provides design assistance to sales when needed and provides estimating costs for Drafting and Design scope on upcoming projects.

  • Responsible for ensuring new engineers and/or existing staff get training needed.

  • Works closely with other departments such as production and erection to ensure design and detailing of product is most efficient

  • Maintains positive and high morale among department employees

Minimal Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a B.S. in Civil Engineering minimum

  • Eight years of precast prestressed concrete design experience

  • Five years of related management experience in the precast industry

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in written form

  • Must be well versed in building codes such as IBC, and reference standards such as ACI, ASCE, and PCI

  • Must be well versed in many engineering software programs, as well as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), etc.

  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Arizona & Nevada or ability to obtain (S.E. a plus)
