Job Description

The IT Quality Analyst is responsible for quality assurance activities for multiple projects, software releases, and product defects throughout the development life cycle. This position will evaluate and test new or modified software applications to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines. The Quality Analyst will design, create, and maintain test strategies, plans, and cases in order to attain high quality of software programs. The Quality Analyst will work in an agile environment. This includes participating in Iteration planning, stand-ups and retrospective meetings. This position will be responsible for story review, test case creation/execution, estimation, result demonstration and defect reporting.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review Story requirements to create test cases and review with business
Work with business to create the acceptance criteria, create test data, manual/ automation test cases
Execute and evaluate manual and automated test cases and report test results
Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
Identify, replicate, and report defects to the Team
Verify defect fixes
Participate in impact analysis based on change requirements and plan the test case execution
Perform backend database testing in Oracle and Microsoft SQL environments including validating stored procedures, jobs and triggers
Working in Agile team environment with responsibility of Iteration planning, Story acceptance review, Test case creation/execution and result demonstration
Identify any potential quality issues and escalate potential quality issues to ITL
Participate in development stand ups and software demonstrations
Participate in the development of policies and procedures for testing best practices
Grow in areas of expertise as dictated by the evolving needs and goals of the company
Report on the status of projects and tasks either orally or in writing as required
Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years of test case planning, development, quality reviews and test case execution
3+ years of experience working in agile environment
Experience working with test management tools (ALM/Quality Center)
Experience working with Agile Management tools and Defecting reporting tools
Experience in database testing in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, triggers and replication
Experience in Functional and Integration testing with impact analysis skills.
Ability to understand and create detailed test scenarios from story requirement documents and meeting with business
Ability to communicate in an effective manner with other technical team members and interface directly with system users
Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment
Business Analysis skills are a plus
