Description

SAIC is hiring a Software Tester located in Pensacola, FL. This position will be supporting Training & Education Management Systems for Naval Education and Training Command (NETC). The role will support our Programs of Record; Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource Systems (CeTARS) for both schoolhouse & corporate, Navy & Joint MyEducation (MyED), Naval Education and Training Future Officer and Citizenship User System (NETFOCUS), Navy Inspector General Hotline Tracking System (NIGHTS), Navy Enlisted Advancement System (NEAS), Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM), and Learning Assessment System (LAS). As a software tester, you’ll evaluate and verify that software applications function as intended by identifying, reporting, and helping to resolve defects, ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of the software.

The Software Tester will require:

  • Advocate for and implement continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and strategies with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability, with an emphasis on web-based applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing to identify and resolve software issues.
  • Clearly document and track defects using test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps), and coordinate with developers to validate their resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, stakeholders, and OEM partners, to ensure comprehensive test coverage throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Validate data integrity and software behavior through SQL-based test data validations and database queries.
  • Support test automation initiatives by defining standards, building test scripts, and ensuring quality gates (e.g., TDD practices, coverage requirements) are met prior to releases.
  • Actively participate in Agile sprint activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and updating sprint boards with testing progress.
  • Troubleshoot and reproduce user-reported issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate on effective resolutions.
  • Design, manage, and improve test execution infrastructure to streamline functional and non-functional test suite runs across CI/CD pipelines, environments, and deployments.
