Job description

The Natural Resource Specialist provides technical and program support for natural resource management, sustainability, critical habitat protection, fire protection, and environmental planning activities at Fort Polk. The position supports implementation and reporting requirements associated with the Sustainable Environmental Management Plan (SEMP), Integrated Natural Resources Management Plans (INRMPs), threatened and endangered species programs, and related environmental databases.Working collaboratively with installation personnel, the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and other stakeholders, the Natural Resource Specialist assists with environmental data management, regulatory research, monitoring activities, technical reporting, and program coordination.
