Job description

Job Overview:
Deaconess Endocrinology Clinics offer in office thyroid ultrasounds, bone densitometry, diabetes education and management, test, diagnosis and management of other endocrine disorders. The Clinic Medical Assistant assist with patients who present with urgent, emergent or potential health problems as well as preventive care. Services will include, but are not limited to, general patient care, assistance with procedures, documentation of activities and patient/family education.
This position would Rooming/Assisting the provider - Dr. Pansare, continuous Glucose Monitor and Insulin Pump downloads, EPIC in basket work includes -- MyChart messages, medication refill requests, and responding to provider phone messages, educate patients on new medications or equipment prescribed by the provider, complete paperwork for patients to receive DME supplies, nurse only appointments approx. 10/day, Medication Assistance Program support for patients, sample medication log and reconciliation.
Additional duties as needed:
• Phone nurse support for 1 Physician and 1 APP
• Prior Authorizations support
• Referral review support
• Exam room turnover
Requirement:
  • Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
  • CPR certification is required
  • Experience preferred but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current certification/license from one of the below:
  • Certified Medical Assistant- American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Registered Medical Assistant- American Medical Technologist
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant- National Health career Association
  • National Certified Medical Assistant- National Center for Competency Testing
  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant- National Association for Health Professionals
  • Registered Medical Assistant- American Allied Health
  • Certified Medical Assistant Clinical- American Medical Certification Association
  • Active LPN license in state of employment
  • Active RN license in state of employment

Shift: Days, Fridays and weekends off
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday
