Job description

This vacancy is for a GS-0303-7, Program Support Assistant located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, D8 FORCE READINESS BRANCH -DXR in NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana.Qualifications:

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

  • Reviewing financial logs, obligations, and expenditures to resolve routine discrepancies (e.g., mismatched billing amounts, missing receipts, or unliquidated obligations)
  • Applying standardized regulations to ensure all administrative fund requests and expenditures are properly documented for audit purposes
  • Gathering data, compiling statistics, maintaining automated records (such as training or readiness databases), and preparing standardized or ad-hoc operational reports for leadership
  • Executing a wide variety of interrelated administrative and clerical processes to support daily operations, personnel, and program management (specifically concerning military/reserve personnel), utilizing advanced functions of office automation software (e.g., Direct Access (PeopleSoft), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
