ABB is seeking an HSE Administrative Support Assistant to join the Environmental-Sustainability Department within the Country HSE function. This position shall report to the ABB facility located in Bloomfield, Connecticut (Hartford region).

In this role, you will be responsible for managing requisitions and payment processing as well as other administrative services and secretarial assistance for the Environmental-Sustainability Department related to maintaining ABB's corporate responsibilities and achieving ABB's sustainability goals.

The work model for this role is hybrid: Monday and Fridays work from home; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are in-office.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Provides high-level administrative support to the Department, including monitoring budgets, managing purchase order requisitions, invoice tracking, and supporting related operational processes.

  • Executes responsibilities and owns the delivery of key business processes and programs to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

  • Supports the leadership and the Department with a broad range of administrative activities, including conducting research, compiling information, preparing reports, presentations, correspondence, and managing confidential documentation.

  • Facilitates effective communication by ensuring timely sharing of information and helping maintain organizational alignment.

  • Independently manages ABB payment processes and drives continuous improvement of administrative practices to enhance efficiency, consistency, and overall effectiveness.

  • Coordinates business-critical internal and external events and logistics, including travel arrangements, itinerary planning, accommodation booking, conference registration, and visitor support.

Qualifications for the role:

  • 4+ years of progressive administrative experience supporting leaders in a corporate environment.

  • 4+ years experience with SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) or similar enterprise systems for payment processing and requisitions.

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.

  • Demonstrated experience managing confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Access.

  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP professional certification or training.

  • Background in handling large volumes of invoice processing and payment workflows.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $52,500 and $84,000 annually.
