National Program Manager

Location: Field-based, Georgia

Unit: AmeriCorps โ€” Employment Navigator (National Direct)

Reports to: VP National Service Programs

FLSA Status: Full-time, exempt, grant-funded

Position Description

The National Program Manager is a full-time, grant-funded position responsible for supervision of AmeriCorps members and partner sites within the Georgia region under OWLโ€™s Employment Navigator AmeriCorps Program (National Direct). This role supports approximately 15 full-time AmeriCorps members across sites operated by Legacy Harvest Foundation and Workforce Empowerment Foundation, and ensures proper monitoring, reporting, and documentation. This is a highly professional position requiring the Program Manager to work independently across a territory, with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills. This position reports directly to the VP National Service Programs.

Responsibilities

Member Management and Support

  • Provide support and guidance to AmeriCorps members to ensure fidelity to the AmeriCorps program model;
  • Adhere to federal AmeriCorps regulations through site visits, email, and phone communication and documentation
  • Utilize sound human resource and inclusion practices to recruit, enroll, and retain member positions as detailed in the approved AmeriCorps grant
  • Provide consistent support and guidance to AmeriCorps candidates from initial recruitment through onboarding
  • Learn and consistently reiterate program requirements as outlined in the AmeriCorps Member Service Agreement
  • Conduct mid-term and end-of-term performance evaluations with AmeriCorps members
  • Assist in development of member and site supervisor handbooks, processes, and procedures as needed
  • Assist in cultivating a safe, member-first experience throughout the service term

Member and Site Management

  • Ensure member accountability to program expectations as outlined in the member handbook
  • Ensure fidelity to the program model and quality member experiences
  • Conduct regularly scheduled and unannounced visits with AmeriCorps partner sites weekly, within our locations in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, or Texas.
  • Ensure proper training, support, and monitoring of each assigned partner site
  • Ensure timely reporting of partner site challenges or concerns for immediate action
  • Conduct bi-weekly AmeriCorps Member Check-In meetings
  • Ensure member compliance with America Learns timekeeping expectations, including weekly timesheet submission and review
  • Ensure monthly collection and submission of Impact Stories and member photos for reporting purposes

Member, Site, and Staff Training

  • Assist in facilitating comprehensive member training to ensure members receive all required training, with appropriate documentation
  • Assist in coordinating AmeriCorps Site Supervisor training quarterly and as needed by partner site
  • Assist in organizing and preparing materials for AmeriCorps Orientation and ongoing professional development
  • Attend all AmeriCorps member and staff training in professional attire and in a timely manner

Essential Qualifications

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take direction and process feedback professionally
  • Proven ability to document programmatic activities timely and assist others in doing so
  • Experience managing multiple relationships and staff/member supervision
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel regularly within Georgia
  • Ability to follow verbal and written direction and complete tasks in a timely, professional manner
  • Commitment to workforce development and economic opportunity program models
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Prior experience with AmeriCorps or another national service program (as staff or as a former member) preferred; familiarity with member service agreements, prohibited activities, and program compliance requirements is a strong plus
  • Must successfully complete a National Service Criminal History Check (NSCHC) per 45 CFR ยง2540.201-207 prior to start

Position Performance Expectations & Benchmarks

  • Successful recruitment of strong AmeriCorps Members at the start of the term
  • 100% AmeriCorps Member retention across all sites for the entire program term
  • Timely recruitment and replacement of any member who exits the program early
  • Site visits to all AmeriCorps partner sites
  • Timely reporting of any member or partner site concerns, challenges, or incidents
  • Weekly submission of recruitment and onboarding updates during program startup
  • Weekly submission of case notes documenting member and site supervisor interactions
  • Weekly submission of the Year-to-Date Site Visit Tracker
  • Weekly compliance with America Learns member timesheet submission and review
  • Bi-weekly AmeriCorps Member Check-In meetings via video conference
  • Monthly Partner Site Supervisor Check-In meeting, coordinated with the VP National Service Programs
  • Monthly collection and submission of 4 Impact Stories, due by the 1st of each month
  • Monthly collection and submission of AmeriCorps Member photos
  • Consistent adherence to AmeriCorps state and federal regulations without exception or variance

  • Salary $50,000 - $55,000 annually (100% grant-funded, full-time, exempt);
