The Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing portfolios for an assigned book of business and providing general support for the portfolio manager team

Position Accountabilities

  • Manage and monitor portfolios for an assigned book of business.
  • Prepare new account and annual Reg 9 reviews.
  • Oversee performance reporting for accounts.
  • Prepare client meeting summary plan documents and recommendations.
  • Monitor accounts for any client investment guideline violations, updates and changes.
  • Understand and be able to communicate the current positioning of all firm strategies, recent changes in key holdings or sectors, and investment results relative to benchmarks.
  • Responsible for research and analysis for investment products and strategies.
  • Support asset management leadership and Senior Portfolio Managers in account management, research and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain and enhance investment knowledge through continuing education and development.
  • Participate in client meetings or portfolio review calls as requested.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Atlantic Union Bankshares' BSA/AML Policy and Procedures.

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to the Deputy Chief Investment Officer.

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Position requires a bachelor degree or higher in finance or related field and a thorough knowledge of stocks, bonds, mutual funds/exchange traded funds.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience preferred.
  • CFA Level 1 or is preferred, or working towards the designation.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg and Morningstar is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing, prepare business correspondence, summarize complex reports, write procedures, and interpret complicated policies. Also involves making verbal presentations and recommendations.
  • High level problem-solving skills are required; problems are technically complex and require the collection, interpretation, and analysis of data from diverse sources.

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
