Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Program Manager to be based in Boston, MA

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee program related activities for smaller programs or a defined part of a larger program, in support of the overall Program Manager.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery at the program level or for elements of a program.
  • Advocate for ethical and safe working practices.
  • Supports innovation in program management approaches and methodology to achieve marketplace differentiation.
  • Identify areas of high risk and pro-actively takes actions to positively impact program outcomes.
  • Contribute to the global learning and people development strategy for program management, including identification of talent gaps and resourcing plans.
  • Assess long-term and disruptive trends in their area of expertise.
  • Proposes skill development approaches and workforce planning to deliver capabilities for the future.
  • Actively supports the attraction and retention of talent across area of expertise.
  • Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management agreement.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the education sector, particularly focusing on schools and universities.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage project teams, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, facilitating their professional growth and development.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • MCPPO (Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official) registration is required.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • 15 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on the education sector (MSBA funded, schools, universities) and/or large scale publicly funded projects in Massachusetts.
  • Proven experience as a "seller-doer," with the ability to generate business and deliver projects successfully.

  • Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and other relevant tools.
