Job description

The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is responsible for supervising the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of assigned individuals’ Program Plans by coordinating services in alignment with each Individual Service Plan (ISP). This role ensures continuity, quality, and compliance of services while supporting individuals in achieving meaningful outcomes.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: 1316 Redwood Drive New Iberia LA 

Key Responsibilities  

Program Planning & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual program plans based on assessed strengths, needs, goals, and objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal licensing requirements and participate in licensing activities as required.

  • Complete assessments, observation summaries, monthly summaries, and progress documentation; revise plans as needed based on progress.

  • Review service placements in collaboration with the Program Manager and/or Director.

Admissions & Client Support

  • Participate in the screening of potential clients and complete all pre-admission and admission documentation.

  • Observe individuals in their environments to ensure objectives are implemented accurately and consistently.

  • Facilitate participation in community and recreational activities.

Staff Training & Oversight

  • Provide guidance, training, and support to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) regarding client-specific objectives and needs.

  • Ensure staff adherence to client schedules, use of approved materials, and accurate data collection methods.

  • Support staff in meeting client needs across all areas of care.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings (quarterly, annual, and as needed).

  • Maintain consistent communication with the Program Manager and/or Director regarding client status and concerns.

  • Communicate appropriately with families, legal guardians, advocates, provider agencies, case managers, and group homes.

Incident Management & Safety

  • Review incident reports and take appropriate corrective action in a timely manner.

  • Immediately notify leadership of all critical incidents.

  • Assist with client evacuation and support efforts during natural disasters or emergency situations.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times.

  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Human Services or a related field

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience initiating, writing, and implementing individual person-centered care plans

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills

Preferred

  • Case management experience in a related field

  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
