Senior Quality Engineering & Program Manager

Company:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineering and Program Manager to join our dynamic team in New Orleans, LA for the Space Launch System program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a member of both the SLS program leadership team and Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems Total Quality leadership team
  • Responsible for all aspects of Quality on the SLS program from design through launch
  • Manages employees and mid-level managers performing quality engineering and quality assurance on the SLS program through all phases of the product lifecycle
  • Develops quality strategies and plans in support of new business acquisition and execution of SLS program/business plans
  • Provides education and coaching on the Quality System
  • Acquires and manages resources, provides quality technical management and leads performance improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports
  • Oversees review of technical information to ensure quality and producibility
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers within an inclusive and collaborative environment
  • Ability to understand the big picture and inter-relationships of functions
  • Ability to effectively communicate current state performance to plans for executive consumption

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, LA.

This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience implementing and/or maintaining a quality management system
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment
  • Experience with Communication, both written and verbal, with a comfort in public speaking and frequent interactions with executive-level management.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prior Quality Management Experience
  • Direct experience performing in quality engineering, manufacturing operations, project management, system engineering, or change management
  • Solid working knowledge of Quality Tools (APQP, Early Quality Involvement, RCCA)
  • Surveillance and Compliance Audits
  • Experience building internal and external customer relationships

Position may require travel up to 10-15% of the time.
