Manufacturing Process Improvement Manager

Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Starting Salary: $85,000+ annually (higher based on experience)

A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Manufacturing Process Improvement Manager to lead continuous improvement initiatives across production and operations. This leadership role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing waste, optimizing processes, and building a culture of operational excellence using Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities
  • Lead continuous improvement programs aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and process improvement initiatives.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Train and mentor employees on continuous improvement tools and best practices.
  • Work closely with production teams to implement process changes.
  • Track KPIs and present improvement results to leadership.
  • Drive labor efficiency through process optimization and workflow improvements.
  • Support multiple shifts as needed and promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in engineer-to-order, fabrication, industrial manufacturing, or similar operations preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and change management.
  • Experience leading measurable process improvement projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Walk and work throughout the manufacturing floor.
  • Stand, bend, and move frequently during improvement activities.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in both office and production environments.
