Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Practice Management Intern in our in our Client Value & Practice Management department, reporting directly to the Regulatory Practice Coordinator for Fall 2026. The Practice Management team is an integral part of the firm focusing on internal and external needs and promoting overall operational efficiency within the Regulatory practice. The Practice Management Intern will have the ability to gain an understanding of the behind-the-scenes operations at a law firm with an opportunity for mentorship and professional growth.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assist with weekly and monthly reporting tasks.
  • Manage and maintain the team calendar, coordinating schedules and key deadlines.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing the paralegal hiring and on-boarding program.
  • Support the creation and expansion of the attorney training resource hub.
  • Contribute to practice management initiatives by conducting research, analyzing data, and developing reports and visual presentations.
  • Help organize and schedule evaluations for non-partner attorneys.
  • Format and proofread internal documents and presentations.
  • Update content for internal website to ensure relevance and usability.
  • Assist with other operational/administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, senior in college preferred
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook Word and PowerPoint
  • Established attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize among competing tasks under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to work in a team setting and collaborate with peers and superiors
  • Good judgment and a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and loyalty
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of client, firm and office information and adhering to the Firmโ€™s Core Values

The hourly rate range for this position in Washington, DC is $19.50 to $23.50 based on level of education
