This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Boisbriand with Signify, the world leader in lighting.

• Create detailed drawings indicating dimensions, views, and other useful information for manufacturing.
• Develop detailed drawings for tooling, molds, and factory layouts required for the role.
• Communicate regularly, or as needed, with the Manufacturing Department to make agreed-upon modifications to drawings to facilitate production while meeting customer requirements.
• Create and update bills of materials (BOMs) used in product manufacturing.
• Conduct time and motion studies to improve the accuracy of planning tools and identify continuous improvement opportunities in production methods.
• Participate in the study and application of quality best practices (office and plant).

More about you

While we appreciate all applicants, we believe the following experience and skills will help you succeed in this role:

• Currently pursuing a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Operations and Logistics Engineering.
• College diploma (DEC) in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is considered an asset.
• Hands-on experience with 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong French communication skills, both written and verbal.

Internship Duration: January - April 2027

Salary: $22.45 - $27.85 per hour

This internship has the potential to lead to a permanent position with Signify.

• Communiquer regulierement, ou au besoin, avec le departement de la fabrication afin d'apporter les modifications convenues aux dessins pour faciliter la production tout en respectant les exigences des clients.
• Rediger et mettre a jour les listes de materiaux (BOM) utilisees dans la fabrication des produits.
• Effectuer des analyses de temps et mouvements afin d'ameliorer la precision des outils de planification et d'identifier des occasions d'amelioration continue des methodes de production.
• Participer a l'etude et a l'application des meilleures pratiques en matiere de qualite (bureau et usine).

A propos de vous

Bien que nous appreciions toutes les candidatures, nous croyons que les experiences et competences suivantes vous permettront de reussir dans ce role :

• Etre actuellement inscrit(e) a un programme universitaire en genie mecanique ou en genie des operations et de la logistique.
• Un DEC en genie mecanique ou industriel est considere comme un atout.
• Posseder une experience pratique avec des outils de modelisation 3D tels que SolidWorks et AutoCAD.
• Avoir une bonne connaissance de Microsoft Word et Excel.
• Faire preuve d'un excellent sens de l'organisation et etre capable de gerer plusieurs projets simultanement.
• Posseder de solides competences en communication en francais, tant a l'oral qu'a l'ecrit.
