Job description

As a Quality Engineering Manager I, you will lead a small team of Quality Engineers supporting program execution, compliance, and continuous improvement. You'll manage day-to-day quality engineering workflow, oversee nonconformance handling, and support early integration of quality into engineering processes. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber. Responsibilities: * Supervise and guide quality engineering staff in daily operations.
* Plan and conduct internal and external quality audits.
* Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of quality control procedures.
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams to uphold quality standards.
* Mentor and train junior engineers and production staff.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Qualifications You Must Have: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
* 7+ years of quality engineering experience; leadership experience preferred.
* Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 11 years of related experience is required.
* Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
* Familiarity with Quality System requirements and contract quality requirements.
* Basic understanding of manufacturing and inspection.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
* Leadership and project management skills. Qualifications We Prefer: * Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
* Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
* Experience in manufacturing and inspection.
* General knowledge of ISO9001, AS9001 standards. Essential Functions: * Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
* Visual acuity to review technical documents and engineering artifacts.
* Occasional standing and walking on production floor (up to 30%).
* Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
* Manual dexterity for handling components and documentation.
* Ability to travel up to 10% to support program or supplier needs
* Ability to work in an office, production, or hybrid environment. This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.
