Job description

BGIS is currently seeking a Program Manager (Data Center Lead) to join the team in West Jordan, UT.

As the Program Manager (Data Center Lead), you'll oversee daily operations and white space projects for PayPal's data centers, acting as the primary liaison with Data Center Managers. You'll lead a team of technicians, manage critical tasks, and ensure high-quality service delivery while maintaining compliance with client SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and coach team members to achieve performance goals and foster professional growth.
  • Conduct daily huddles and provide onboarding and hands-on data center training.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure timely, high-quality client service.

Operational Oversight:

  • Perform daily data center walk-throughs to assess operations and identify issues.
  • Manage the ServiceNow ticketing queue, prioritizing and scheduling tasks to meet/exceed SLAs.
  • Oversee physical installation and power-up (Rack & Stack) of servers, peripherals, and network equipment.
  • Conduct and delegate quality checks to maintain operational standards.

Project & Process Management:

  • Participate in SOP development and meetings to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to corporate initiatives and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with clients and service providers to plan and execute data center projects.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in IT/networking systems with technical/operational roles in a data center environment or equivalent.
  • Experience in dynamic colocation and managed services environments.
  • Certifications: At least 1 technical certification or equivalent work experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of data center architectures (equipment cabinets, containment, power distribution, computer/network systems, cabling, communications).
  • Understanding of core infrastructure (power, cooling, fire protection) and raised floor equipment standards.
  • Proficiency in DCIM principles and ServiceNow.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.
  • Strong customer service, collaboration, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to walk job sites and work at heights (preferred).
  • Flexibility to work all shift schedules (7x24x365) and respond to off-hour emergency calls.
