Job Summary:

The SPM conducts analysis of workforce activities and data entry to evaluate compliance with policies and procedures and adherence to contract requirements. This position assists with staff training and development and provides management over Academic and Career Planning (ACP), intensive job and post-secondary readiness programming, job search and placement assistance, case management, mentoring, employer engagement and training/re-training, applicable certifications and follow up services to enrolled Brighter Futures members at each designated school location and city-wide referrals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages staff outreach, recruitment and enrollment of Brighter Futures and WIG participants at schools and city wide.
  • Communicates effectively and works in conjunction with Employ Milwaukee Career Coordinator and Clubs Program Outreach Team.
  • Manages Brighter Futures staff to ensure participants complete six required programming elements.
  • Manages staff to ensure each maintains a minimum caseload of 33 students enrolled into WIOA/Brighter Futures services and monitors staffsโ€™ weekly check-ins on school attendance, academic performance, behavior, and needed interventions.
  • Conduct quality reviews; use statistical sampling, auditing and observation of work in progress to evaluate compliance with policies and procedures and adherence to contract requirements.
  • Implement plan for regular monitoring. Review client eligibility and expenditure requests. Monitor files, reports and payment requests submitted by staff for compliance with local, state and federal requirements.
  • Review staff performance regarding client enrollment and expenditure requests and recommend coaching/counseling and training as needed.

  • Prepare reports and monitoring documents for dissemination, identify areas for improvement, and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to management and appropriate staff.
  • Schedule training sessions in coordination with Director, HR and Employ Milwaukee.
  • Deliver training programs for all employees in various classroom formats, using relevant training materials such as texts, handouts, class exercises or assessment tools.
  • Review operational procedures and processes to ensure compliance and provide technical assistance to center staff in process/quality improvement.
  • Monitors and Maintain accurate records, including training schedules, attendance and pre/post test evaluations per staff files and in database systems of ETO, Asset and Boys & Girls Club database.
  • Update and maintain document control systems.
  • Utilize Extreme Customer Service behaviors in all interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Develops and maintains contacts with private sector businesses, community organizations and educational institutions for the purpose of outreach, recruitment and positive public relations/support.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates Career Development related quality programing and activities to achieve specific goals and outcome measurements.
  • Develops and maintains positive climate and environment with program spaces.
  • Communicates the philosophy, objectives, standards, and programs of the Boys & Girls Club, through all methods available, to members, their parents, and the general public.
  • Provides written documentation of program implementation and evaluation.
  • Generate weekly, or monthly reports as requested.
  • Must participate in required trainings by the Club, County, State, and/or funders.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of non-profit youth programming experience including responsibility for program development, implementation and management working with urban youth.
  • At least 2 years of experience directly related to issues affecting urban high school aged youth and youth programming. Emphasis on engaging youth in out-of-school time career development, post-secondary preparation, social emotional learning and academic focused support programs.
  • Proven experience in motivating and accomplishing work through others, including teammates and peers as well as a degree of successful program partnership creation and maintenance.
  • Proven success in developing partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, neighborhood groups, and supporters.

Skills:

  • High level of knowledge of various career fields, related post-secondary, or trade training, and hands on experiential programming opportunities.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to relate effectively with diverse population.
  • Experience in partnership development, internal customer service, leading through service, and providing resources to others.
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to utilize Excel and Access applications effectively for fiscal and other analysis and planning. Ability to learn and utilize new technologies and data base systems and apply technology to programmatic and management applications.
  • Ability to create and maintain high level community profile. Proven ability to garner support and request of peers and colleagues and interact effectively with individual stakeholders in a variety of roles.
  • Must have a valid WI driverโ€™s license, good driving record, and meets state required automobile insurance minimums.
