Job description

Position Summary

The Emerging Technologies Manager partners with MEPPI divisions, and Mitsubishi Electric to identify, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge technologies that solve business challenges and enhance MEPPI products and operations. This role drives alignment between MEPPIโ€™s IT strategy and broader Mitsubishi Electric technology initiatives while ensuring secure, scalable, and value-driven implementation of emerging solutions.


What Youโ€™ll Do

Technology Strategy & Innovation

  • Partner with all MEPPI divisions to identify and evaluate emerging technologies that improve business processes and product offerings.
  • Collaborate with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Mitsubishi Electric US representatives to ensure MEPPI requirements are incorporated into enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
  • Work closely with the IT Director to align MEPPIโ€™s IT strategy with MELCO and MEUS direction on emerging technologies.
  • Stay current on commercially developed technologies through participation in industry trade shows, technology user groups, and professional networks.

Implementation & Governance

  • Drive implementation and adoption of emerging technologies across MEPPI divisions.
  • Ensure emerging technologies are implemented securely and in compliance with industry-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Apply Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices across both waterfall and agile project environments.
  • Recommend and participate in vendor selection processes for emerging technologies.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, consultants, and service providers.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with division leaders to identify business needs and develop innovative solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to employees, leadership, and external partners.
  • Promote the goals and professional image of the IT Department by conducting business in a timely, collaborative, and customer-focused manner.

What You Bring

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a computer-related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of technology-related experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience managing technology projects of varying scope and complexity.
  • Advanced knowledge of generative artificial intelligence technologies and practical business use cases.
  • Strong understanding of information security concepts and regulatory requirements impacting technology selection and implementation.
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile Software Development Lifecycle methodologies.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and a variety of business applications.
