Head of Insurance Implementations and Onboarding

Locations: Boston/Waltham, MA | Hybrid

The role is focused on leading a specialized practice that implements and onboards Investment Accounting and Operations for insurance firms. Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate a strong approach and methodology to project delivery and a track record managing large projects ensuring consistent and successful delivery, and the ability to engage at executive levels while working on details with teams.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Lead, manage and mentor a team of project directors and project managers leading the delivery of client projects. Work across cross functional teams of experts assigned to projects to deliver project activity,
  • Define best practice implementation methodology. Understand existing methodologies in place and make recommendations for improvements for implementations to become more repeatable and efficient.
  • Develop a strong understanding of product capabilities across insurance accounting, performance measurement, reporting and related services, ideally prior experience with similar products
  • Work very closely with the Outsourcing and Software teams whose resources will be assigned to client projects
  • Provide oversight on all projects. Ensure strong internal project governance with status tracking focused on ensuring projects are delivered on time at a high level of quality. Update key internal stakeholders on status. Work with senior management to help resolve any major issues & risks
  • Collaboate with cleint project teams on project planning, status tracking and activity delivery with similar governance structure to what we expect internally.
  • Work with Product Management to ensure product roadmap delivers align to client project timelines, make recommendations for improvements that could make implementations more efficient and successful
  • Allocate and schedule resources to projects, ensuring that they have the skills to perform the project activities that is required of them
  • Support Business Development & Solutions teams in winning new business - this includes supporting RFP completion, sizing implementations, client presentations or any other activity which aids the development of the Institutional & Investment Management business
  • Lead the team effectively with focus on good people management practices
  • Manage key performance indicators for the role including revenue, margin, utilization, client satisfaction, stakeholder satisfaction and employee morale.
  • Provide financial forecasting and reconciliation to forecast and budget

What You Will Bring:

  • Significant prior experience of delivering software implementation and / or outsourcing onboarding for middle to back-office functions, ideally insurance investment accounting
  • Strong project management experience and capabilities with a deep focus on timely project delivery, defining, managing and governing project plans. Strong judgment, risk & issues management, and problem analysis techniques
  • Financial industry experience, specifically strong industry background knowledge within Insurance accounting and operations
  • Good general knowledge cloud first multitenant architecture and deployments
  • Ability to troubleshoot details while maintaining the "big picture" view
  • Ability to manage high pressure client situations and build trust with the clients
  • Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous issues
  • Ability to present and communicate at a senior stakeholder level (internally & externally)
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex technical, product and business issues
  • Self-motivated, "Find a way to get it done" attitude
  • Outstanding time management skills and attention to details
  • Deep experience with project management tools, Microsoft Project a must
