Job Summary
The Education Specialist provides specialized academic instruction, case management, and support services to
students with disabilities. The Education Specialist works collaboratively with general education staff, related
service providers, families, and administration to support student progress toward Individualized Education
Program (IEP) goals and ensure compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
District Teachers are under the supervision of and are evaluated by the Site Administrator or his/her designee.
Teachers work with the District Special Education Director, Site Administrator, other special education staff
members, as well as regular education staff. It is anticipated that this position primarily supports students in a
TK-12 non-classroom-based educational setting, while collaboration and services may also occur within
general education and/or traditional school settings as appropriate to student needs and program
implementation. This position requires possession of a valid California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist
Credential, fingerprint clearance, a pre-placement physical, and TB testing.
