Brief Position Overview
The OCSL Program Coordinator will provide resources to students seeking support for off-campus housing, community transportation, and advise them on neighborhood and community integration. This role works closely with the Division of Student Success (DSS) through the office of the Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU) and in partnership with campus and community partners.
This position focuses on direct student engagement, service delivery, and operational support of established OCSL programs, while program design, supervision, and external partnership leadership are held by the Program Manager. This position works directly with students in one-on-one advising meetings and will support the Program Manager with the maintenance of professional relationships with campus and community stakeholders, including landlords and public officials working in housing and transportation. The employee in this role supports the continuous development of educational group workshops, events, and online resources.
This Program Coordinator will commit to developing a working knowledge of the supports available to students through DSS and the broader MSU community. The position requires strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality of information and use unbiased decision-making to support students.

General Statement
Under purview of the OCSL Program Manager, Off-Campus Student Life provides crucial services to students living off campus in the Bozeman area. OCSL is in the heart of the Strand Union Building and students will seek advice and referrals to help them transition into living in the Bozeman community. Office staff will provide advice for students looking for roommates and places to rent; referrals to various resources like legal support; and information about community transportation resources. The efforts of OCSL encompass housing support, transportation and safety initiatives, and community engagement, thereby empowering students to succeed academically and persist in graduation.
Duties and Responsibilities
PROGRAM SUPPORT
  • Provide direct 1:1 student advising sessions to share resources, support housing navigation, and connect students to campus and community services under established program guidelines.
  • Coordinate student referrals to MSU Division of Student Success and community partners as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Work as a collaborative member of the ASMSU and OCSL teams and serve in a student-centered, professional manner.

MARKETING & OUTREACH
  • Participate in meetings with community housing stakeholders (e.g., property managers, leasing offices) in coordination with the Program Manager.
  • Support weekly operations of OCSL's safe ride program, CatCab.
  • Collect and organize student and housing data and provide summaries to support program assessment and reporting.
  • Support in the maintenance and development of web content and student-centered educational materials, including print and digital marketing materials, upkeep of the OCSL website, development of social media content, and more.
  • Support management of educational materials and resource databases, including the Off-Campus Housing Marketplace.

OFFICE OPERATIONS & ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
  • Collect and maintain records and data to support program evaluation and future program development.
  • Support the Program Manager with general office administration.
  • Assist the Program Manager in the planning and coordination of workshops, events, and educational programming.
  • Responsible for day-to-day administrative support and operational execution of OCSL activities.

Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  2. Experience providing direct student support services, advising, or program implementation
  3. Experience with professional marketing strategies, including use of social media, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or web content management systems.
  4. Demonstrated competence maintaining confidential records with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail.
  5. Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  6. Demonstrated competence using personal computers and various software such as word processors, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, email and the internet.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  1. Demonstrated experience working with diverse student and stakeholders in a complex high-energy collaborative team
  2. Experience in housing management or student advising
  3. Experience working with campus and community partners
  4. Experience in event planning and facilitation
  5. Competence with the appropriate use of generative AI tools in a professional context
