JOB PURPOSE AND FUNCTION
The primary purpose of the Life Enrichment Manager position is to support Resident Engagement Director in the daily operation of the Life Enrichment Department by coordinating, implementing, and supervising resident-centered programming that promotes the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive well-being of residents. The Life Enrichment Manager provides direct supervision to Life Enrichment staff, assists with departmental operations, and ensures consistent delivery of meaningful engagement opportunities throughout the community.
Working under the direction of the Resident Engagement Director, this position assists with staff scheduling, program implementation, documentation, resident assessments, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives while serving as a role model for person-centered care and Villa's Mission and Values.

REQUIREMENTS
Kansas C.N.A. certificate preferred.
Clean driving record.
Experience in Life Enrichment, Activities, Recreation Therapy, Long-Term Care, Assisted Living, or Memory Care preferred.
NCCAP (National Certification Council for Activity Professionals) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports and exemplifies Villa's Mission and Values of Faith, Integrity, Excellence, Compassionate Service, and Respect.
Assists the Resident Engagement Director with the daily management and operation of the Life Enrichment Department.
Supervises Life Enrichment Coordinators, Assistants, and volunteers during assigned shifts.
Assists with staff scheduling and daily staffing assignments to ensure adequate programming coverage.
Coordinates and facilitates daily, evening, weekend, and holiday programming.
Ensures activities begin on time and are conducted in a safe, engaging, and person-centered manner.
Assists with developing and implementing individualized activity programming based on resident preferences, interests, abilities, and care plans.
Completes resident interviews, activity assessments, and documentation as assigned.
Documents resident participation, progress notes, attendance records, and care plan updates according to facility policy and regulatory requirements.
Monitors resident participation and identifies residents at risk for isolation or decreased engagement, communicating concerns to the interdisciplinary team.
Assists with implementing specialized programming for residents with dementia, cognitive impairment, behavioral health needs, and physical limitations.
Coordinates activity calendars, room visits, one-to-one programming, and small group activities.
Assists with planning and coordinating special events, holiday celebrations, entertainment, outings, and community involvement opportunities.
Assists with transportation and supervision of residents during community outings as needed.
Maintains activity areas in a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming condition.
Assists with ordering, organizing, inventorying, and maintaining departmental supplies and equipment.
Assists with decorating the community for holidays, special events, and seasonal celebrations.
Provides orientation, coaching, and ongoing support to Life Enrichment staff and volunteers.
Assists with volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and recognition activities.
Ensures infection prevention practices and safety procedures are followed during all programming.
Reports maintenance, environmental, or safety concerns promptly.
Participates in resident care conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives as assigned.
Assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Resident Engagement Director.
Responds professionally and compassionately to resident and family concerns regarding Life Enrichment services.
Encourages resident choice, independence, dignity, and meaningful engagement in all programming.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Resident Engagement Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides day-to-day supervision of Life Enrichment Coordinators, Assistants, and volunteers.
Assists with training, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
Monitors staff performance and reports concerns to the Resident Engagement Director.
Promotes teamwork, accountability, and excellent customer service.
Assists in maintaining appropriate staffing levels during assigned shifts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of person-centered Life Enrichment programming.
Understanding of dementia care principles and resident engagement techniques.
Strong organizational and time management skills.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (WITH OR WITHOUT THE AID OF MECHANICAL DEVICES)
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must be able to transport supplies, equipment, decorations, and activity materials.
Must be able to assist residents during activities and accompany residents on community outings.

Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, physicians, volunteers, government agencies, and personnel.
Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetic devices that enable these senses to function adequately to perform the essential duties of the position.
Must demonstrate emotional stability, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Must be able to organize multiple priorities while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
