Position/Rank Associate Program Director, University of Utah Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling Department 00848 - Pediatric Administration City Salt Lake City, UT Track Non Tenure Track New Position to Begin Details
The Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a Genetic Counselor to provide clinical care (40%) and serve as the Associate Program Director of the University of Utah Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling (60%).

The Associate Program Director will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and facilitating all aspects of the University of Utah Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling (UUGPGC), preparing accreditation reports, serving as a course director and teaching didactic courses, representing the UUGPGC at national meetings and conferences, and serving as a liaison between the UUGPGC and the Graduate School, School of Medicine, and participating departments.

Clinical care will include providing genetic counseling services in general genetics and/or pediatric specialties clinics under the Division of Medical Genetics, Department of Pediatrics. Clinical activities may be carried out at Primary Children's Hospital locations in Salt Lake City and Lehi, Utah, the University of Utah Hospital, and outreach clinics within and outside Utah.

There is an expectation for academic work including clinical care/practice advancement, education, investigation, administration, and advocacy.

Qualified candidates must have post-graduate education in genetic counseling (minimum of master's degree); certification in Genetic Counseling from the American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Board of Medical Genetics, or equivalent; current license to practice as a Genetic Counselor in the State of Utah; minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of genetic counseling; and teaching and research experience in the field of genetic counseling. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical Track at the rank of Assistant Professor. Full onsite presence is required.
