Position Overview
The Cosmetology Instructor will teach theory and handson practical skills, support student progress, and maintain a positive, structured learning environment. This role includes both teaching days and administrative days to support student records, grading, and preparation.
Schedule

  • Teach: Tuesdays & Saturdays
  • Admin/Prep: Mondays & Fridays (student works independently in the back while you work at the computer)
Responsibilities

  • Teach cosmetology theory and practical services across all hair textures
  • Demonstrate techniques and coach students through handson learning
  • Prepare students for Washington State Board exams
  • Track attendance, grades, and progress according to school and state requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional classroom environment
  • Support student success through mentorship, feedback, and encouragement
  • Complete administrative tasks such as grading, lesson planning, and documentation
  • Collaborate with the School Director to ensure program quality and consistency
Requirements

  • Current Washington State Cosmetology Instructor license (or eligibility)
  • Strong technical skills in hair, skin, and nail services
  • Experience with textured hair and protective styles preferred
  • Teaching or training experience is a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and follow structured systems
