Open Staffing Foundation (OSF) is a nonprofit that provides staffing services for the Internet Archive and other mission aligned organizations.


Job Summary

The Partnership Development Manager reports to the Director of Archiving & Data Services and serves a critical role in helping grow the use of our products and services, developing partnerships, participating in collaborative initiatives, and conducting outreach and community management efforts. The role will be the preliminary contact for potential users of our products, ensure the success of partner relationships, research market and client needs, and align business and partner opportunities with product and engineering goals in the Archiving & Data Services group while working directly with the national and international cultural heritage community and other stakeholders advancing preservation, access, open information, and public knowledge.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and conduct business and partner development activities across a range of products focused on digital archiving, open access, and web and data services

  • Own the inbound and outbound leads cultivation and management workflows

  • Deliver product demos, trials, trainings, and related quotes and proposals

  • Help ensure new partner success, existing partner retention, and overall partner satisfaction and engagement

  • Contribute to community management efforts and ensure partner engagement

  • Represent Internet Archive and cultivate relationships with current and prospective partners at conferences, meetings, and events

  • Plan and oversee marketing and outreach initiatives and establish a strong identity and a thriving community for our products and programs

  • Work with partner services and finance staff to steward user and accounts data, leads pipelines and CRM systems, and reporting and business analytics

  • Work closely with the Director and managers to ensure development and outreach work is aligned with product roadmaps and strategic goals

  • Set and achieve targets for partnership, new users, and revenue growth

  • Contribute to department grant seeking and funder development

  • Assist in research projects and other internal duties as assigned

Education and Experience
  • Required

    • At least 3 years of partnership/business development, user support, sales, or product or partnership management, preferably with SaaS technologies

    • Demonstrated experience developing and executing on development and growth plans for web-based products, especially for institutional users

    • Ability to help shape this highly-matrixed role, own a variety of responsibilities, and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team

  • Preferred

    • A background working in and with non-profit organizations.

    • Experience working with library, educational, cultural heritage, government or similarly-aligned, mission-driven organizations

    • Experience working remotely and with remote teams

    • Knowledge of library technologies, social-good web applications, or open-source technology product development

    • Previous experience with CRMs or similar systems

Job Details

This is a remote-first position working in a distributed team. Candidates will need to have significant overlap with primarily Pacific Time Zone based colleagues.
