Join Our Team as a Business Development Manager (Field Sales)
Company Overview
As a leading manufacturer of seating systems for commercial vehicles and technical springs, we are proud to operate in 20 countries with a dedicated team of 7,000 employees. Part of the esteemed AUNDE Group, our brands—AUNDE, ISRINGHAUSEN, and FEHRER—encompass the entire production chain, from raw yarn to the highest quality finished seats. We are a trusted partner to top manufacturers and are now looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to expand our reach in the U.S. truck, bus, and construction vehicle markets.
Position Summary
Are you ready to take your field sales career to the next level? As our Business Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of developing and nurturing vital customer relationships, spearheading new business opportunities, and acting as the commercial and technical liaison between ISRI and our clients across the United States. This is more than just a sales role; it’s a chance to make impactful connections while traveling extensively (approximately 50% of your time) and driving growth in various markets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Field Sales amp; Account Development
  • Serve as the primary sales contact for both assigned and prospective customers throughout the U.S., building and maintaining long-term relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, fleets, and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to gain insight into their unique technical, commercial, and operational needs.
  • Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities, requests for quotations (RFQs), and customer programs aligned with ISRI's growth objectives.
Technical amp; Commercial Sales Execution
  • Represent ISRI’s innovative seating systems with a robust technical understanding of our products, options, and applications.
  • Support the entire sales cycle, from initial concept discussions to quotations and commercial negotiations.
  • Collaborate internally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless execution.

Market Awareness amp; Reporting
  • Monitor market trends and stay updated on customer programs and the competitive landscape.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, and account activities using our SAP and CRM systems.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing opportunities, risks, and customer feedback.
  • Actively participate in trade shows, customer events, technical reviews, and program kick-offs.

What We’re Looking For and Must-Have Qualifications
  • Proven field sales experience with a track record in new business development, prospecting, and relationship building.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills—your ability to build trust and credibility will set you apart.
  • A technical mindset with the ability to grasp and articulate complex engineered products (experience with seating systems is a plus).
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to navigate your U.S. territory independently.
  • Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and networking skills, with a strong focus on customer engagement during visits and on-site meetings.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time across the United States.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally within a global organization, coordinating efforts with engineering, operations, and management.
  • A goal-oriented mindset with exceptional analytical, organizational, and time-management skills to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in SAP (Sales, Order Management, Pricing, or Material Master modules preferred).
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience in automotive, truck, bus, heavy-duty, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with OEM sales environments, RFQs, and program-based business.
  • Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings, specifications, or Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in field sales, business development, key account management, or technical sales is preferred.
Language Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proactive problem solver who can navigate challenges as they arise.
  • Understanding of project timelines and milestones to ensure successful execution.
Ready to Make an Impact?
