Job Title: Drop-In Program Specialist

Department: Drop-In

Reports To: Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Floating

Schedule: Flexible, includes evenings and occasional weekends

Job Summary

The Drop-In Program Specialist plays a key role in supporting the daily operations, program development, and staff mentorship within the Drop-In Services department. This position bridges the gap between direct service staff and program coordination, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and inclusive programming for participants. The Specialist will lead  activities, complete , and provide backup support for the Drop-In Coordinator and Program Aides needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and facilitate group activities, workshops, and community-based events tailored to participant interests and needs.
  • Support Drop-In Aides and Counselors by exemplifying best practices in participant engagement and program delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Drop-In Manager to evaluate and enhance program curricula.
  • Provide coverage and leadership at all drop in locations
  • Support data collection, documentation, and reporting on participant progress and program outcomes.
  • Write quarterly program activity summaries that highlight key events, participation trends, and program impact.
  • Complete semi-annual case notes for assigned clients, documenting progress, engagement, and support needs.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across all drop-in centers.
  • Maintain strong communication with staff, participants, and external partners.
  • Uphold ethical standards and model compassionate, culturally responsive care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Drop-In Counselor, Aide, or similar role.
  • Strong facilitation skills and experience leading group activities or trainings.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor peers and support team development.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Provide assistance for meal prep and driving as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate agency vehicles required.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs.
  • Background in education, social work, recreation, or related field.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus.
