As the designated Community Action Agency for San Bernardino County, the largest county in the continental United States, CAPSBC is charged with serving over 800,000 low-income families and individuals, elderly and homeless residents of San Bernardino County each year. CAPSBC delivers services to 78 San Bernardino County cities and communities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Manager of Administrative Support, the Social Media/Marketing Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing strategic marketing, communications, and social media initiatives that promote the mission, programs, services, events, and community impact of Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County. This position serves as a key storyteller for the organization, increasing public awareness, stakeholder engagement, donor participation, and community outreach through digital and traditional marketing channels. A successful incumbent will work collaboratively with program staff, leadership, community partners, funders, and vendors to ensure consistent branding, effective communication, and successful promotion of agency programs and events.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media & Digital Marketing

  1. Develop and implement social media and digital marketing strategies that support agency goals.
  2. Create, schedule, and manage engaging content across social media platforms and digital channels.
  3. Monitor audience engagement, respond to inquiries, and foster positive community relationships.
  4. Track performance metrics and prepare reports with recommendations to improve reach and engagement.

Marketing & Communications

  1. Plan and execute marketing campaigns that promote agency programs, services, events, fundraising efforts, and community impact.
  2. Develop and distribute marketing materials, including newsletters, press releases, website content, email campaigns, and promotional collateral.
  3. Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and visual identity across all communications.
  4. Coordinate media outreach and support public relations efforts.

Event Promotion & Community Outreach

  1. Promote agency events, fundraisers, and special initiatives through strategic marketing and communications.
  2. Coordinate event-related marketing materials, photography, videography, and media coverage.
  3. Represent the agency at community events and outreach activities as assigned.

Website & Content Management

  1. Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and engagement.
  2. Assist with search engine optimization (SEO) and website performance tracking.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  1. Highlight agency achievements, success stories, and community impact through effective storytelling.
  2. Support outreach, volunteer recruitment, donor engagement, and partnership development with community stakeholders.

Reporting & Administration

  1. Monitor marketing performance and analyze data to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  2. Maintain marketing calendars, communication assets, vendor relationships, budgets, and project timelines.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in public relations, communications, public/business administration, or related field.
  2. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with graphic design, social media management, marketing, communications and public relations.
  3. Superior proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, G-suite and Microsoft Office 365, Google Analytics, Constant Contact, Meta Business Suite, and WIX.
  4. Proficiently operate standard office equipment, including computer hardware and software applications associated with performance of assigned work, and photography and videography equipment.
  5. Experience working with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, or community-based organizations preferred.
  6. Experience planning and promoting special events preferred.


PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Position requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, twisting, and bending. Simple grasping and hand manipulation, as well as reaching above and below shoulder level. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires working indoors in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Requires ability to travel throughout San Bernardino County for events and outreach activities, and ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends for agency events.
